DIY FIRE PIT KITS ARE A FAST-GROWING TREND

Red DIY, Do It Yourself EmblemThe top trend in outdoor living space design over the past few years has been adding a fire pit according to the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects). This speaks to our nation’s general trend of extending our indoors to the outdoors that we’ve been seeing in the industry.

So regardless of whether you choose to incorporate a wood-burning fire pit or an easy and safe gas-burning fire pit, either one will provide years of enjoyment for you and your family.

NATURAL GAS OR PROPANE FIRE PIT KITS

In addition to the kits above, we also offer pre-packaged fire pit kits that can be shipped as either a wood-burning fire pit or a gas-burning fire pit. If you’re choosing a gas fire pit, you’ll want to discuss it with a professional plumber before you install it. If you select one of our wood-burning stone fire pit kits, you’ll want to position your pit a minimum of 10’ away from your existing structures for good safety measures.

The natural gas or LP Propane gas set-up is an add-on feature that can be adapted to the block pits we currently sell. We can also package these set-ups in a “Ready to Finish” pre-fab kit to which you can add stone veneer for a highly customized look. Both of these options are through FireGear Outdoors and are available by special order.

See our ”Assemble & Finish” Kits here.

Also, the “Round Flat” and the “Square Flat” systems from FireGear can be inserted into the block pits we sell with just a few minor modifications. So if you want the look and value of one of our Pyzique or Matryx kits but don’t want to deal with firewood issues, we’ve got you covered.

CUSTOM FIRE PIT DESIGN OPTIONS

If you would like to custom build your own fire pit, we provide all the materials you will need for a formal or informal design as pictured here.

Here at Southwest Stone, we offer many types and styles of natural stone and masonry block so you can choose either a contemporary or classic style of fire pit stone, or even create a transitional style if you wish. We have whatever you need to match the style of your home and existing landscaping and hardscapes.

Plus, our friendly experts can assist you with planning for your project.

THE NATURAL ATTRACTION OF A STONE FIRE PIT

Everyone loves a fire pit. We love to be near a fire in peaceful solitude or to sit around the fire with friends and family.  We love s’mores and hot dogs and hot sandwiches and fun desserts cooked in those nifty little sandwich cookers over an open flame. We love the feel of the warmth on a cool evening, and yes, there are those of us who even love the smell it leaves on our clothes.

All these and more are why so many people buy fire pit kits. So, make sure that you plan accordingly. Make sure that you plan a feature that you will be happy with for many years. See to it that you allow plenty of space for seating and gathering together with others. And if you’re custom designing a fire space, you may want to consider natural stone seating with seat walls for the sake of convenience as well as appeal and adding value to your home.
